About GCMS FBLA Chapter

Essential FBLA Outcomes

From the national organization; desired outcomes of membership

  • Develop an understanding of what it means to lead
  • Understand fundamental business principles and how business impacts all sectors
  • Demonstrate the ability to use technical skills to solve problems
  • Create a post-graduation career plan

About FBLA High School

From the national organization; about FBLA at the HS level

  • Individualization – The FBLA High School experience should be tailored to individual members to ensure that they are gaining the knowledge, skills, experiences, and behaviors they need to be successful after high school.
  • Exposure to Multiple Career Pathways – Based on these experiences as well as the knowledge and skills gained through their Business Education program, FBLA High School members understand they can choose to: enter the world of work, join the military, continue on with a Business Education Program in college, or select another focus for further education.
  • See the Business Cycle in All Sectors – FBLA High School members should have experiences in multiple sector areas since business is a key function of every sector area and industry. Multiple sector area experiences will provide FBLA High School members more transferable skills to industry areas or higher education major areas of focus.

Frequently Asked Questions

FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. However, you don't need to have a future in the business world to have fun and become a better version of one's self. FBLA is for anyone who wants to become better at being a leader, member of society, and much more! Business is just at our heart!

Our chapter and officer teams' goal is to deliver FBLA's core values to all members, but also create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. High school is a time to be social with one another, so FBLA will provide that at our monthly meetings and member-loved state convention trip.

Not at all! As already mentioned, FBLA is there to help those succeed in any field they enter later in life. Students are more likely to be better prepared at life in general.

It's easy! Just come to one of our first meetings, get in touch via this website, or see Mrs. Conlin or any officer sometime at school!

Our chapter strongly encourages all members to be a part of competitive events. Competitive events are events within the FBLA system that start at a conference level, then moves to the state level. Some even have the opportunity to compete at the National Level if one scores high enough at state. These events focus on self and business development, spanning from business plans, to financial literacy tests, to public speaking, and to much more.
